    Edmonton Mercurys win Olympic gold

    The Edmonton Mercurys, an amateur team representing Canada, tied the United States 3-3 in their final game at the Oslo Winter Olympics to clinch the hockey gold medal. It was the last Canadian Olympic hockey gold until Salt Lake City in 2002.
