In the 'Battle of the Brians' free skate at Calgary's Olympic Saddledome on February 20, 1988, American Brian Boitano narrowly outskated Canada's flag-bearer Brian Orser to take Olympic gold, leaving Orser with a second consecutive Olympic silver.
