Ice-jam flood swamps downtown Fort McMurray
On April 27, 2020, a roughly 25 km ice jam on the Athabasca and Clearwater rivers pushed floodwater into downtown Fort McMurray, forcing about 13,000 people from their homes — four years after the community's wildfire evacuation.
