Blackfalds launches photo contest for Highway 2A Mural Trail

Residents can submit photos of murals along the Red Deer, Blackfalds and Lacombe corridor for a chance to win a $250 local gift basket.

The Town of Blackfalds has launched a Mural Trail Photo Contest, building on a scavenger hunt held earlier this spring that guided participants through historic murals across Red Deer, Blackfalds and Lacombe along the Highway 2A corridor.

Blackfalds Economic Development Officer Peter McGee said the Mural Trail has become a unique attraction that encourages people to discover the character, history and creativity of the three communities, and that the photo contest aims to keep people exploring the corridor while sharing the moments that inspire them.

Participants are invited to tour the mural trail and submit photos through the Town of Blackfalds app until September 30. Submissions will be reviewed, with the top three photos put forward for a public vote.

The winning entry will receive a locally curated gift basket valued at $250, made up of gift cards and products from Blackfalds businesses and organizations.
