The forecasts behind this mapAvalanche Canada's Alberta funding secured after months of doubt

Avalanche danger ratings from Avalanche Canada for the forecast regions covering the Alberta Rockies — Kananaskis, Banff and Lake Louise, Jasper and the Icefields, and Waterton — on the 1–5 North American scale, shown in Avalanche Canada's own wording. The regions follow the mountains rather than the provincial boundary, so several of them run west across the divide and Rogers Pass (Glacier) is included, because Albertans ski there. Ratings run from late fall through spring; through the summer every region reads 'Summer Conditions', which is what Avalanche Canada publishes in the off-season.
