Red Deer's Eileen Park named to Canada 2 for World Junior Girls Golf in Brampton

Eileen Park of Red Deer will compete for Canada at an international junior golf championship later this month.

Eileen Park of Red Deer has been named to Canada 2, one of two Canadian teams heading to the World Junior Girls Golf Championship at Brampton Golf Club from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3. She'll play alongside Nobelle Park of Oakville, Ont., who leads the team, and Ruihan Kendria Wang of Vancouver.

Canada's other squad, Canada 1, is headed by Shauna Liu of Maple, Ont., with Clairey Lin of Langley, B.C., and Jodie Han of Vancouver rounding out the roster.

This marks the 11th edition of the tournament, which brings together 24 three-player teams from 23 countries. Canada won its first title in the event in 2023, the last time Brampton hosted. That championship team included Anna Huang, who has since turned pro and tied for fourth at last month's CPKC Women's Open in Edmonton at age 17.

Liu and Lin have each won silver in the team competition over the past two years, while Clara Ding of White Rock, B.C., took individual silver last year.
