Whoop-Up Days wraps up Saturday with rodeo finale and fireworks in Lethbridge
Lethbridge's annual summer fair closes out its run with a full slate of rodeo, wrestling, live music and a fireworks show over the Midway.
Whoop-Up Days, hosted by Excite Lethbridge, concludes its run on Saturday, Aug. 22, with gates opening at noon for the final day of the long-running Southern Alberta summer event.
The day's schedule includes Pure Power Wrestling's Hot Summer Night at 5 p.m., the final night of the Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo at 7 p.m., and the new Rodeo Cabaret at 9:30 p.m. Headliner Gord Bamford performs on the Whoop-Up Days Stage at 9:30 p.m., following sets from Luke James Bruce & The Ramblers, Mariya Stokes and Trevor Panczak.
The event closes with the Fireworks Finale at 11 p.m., presented by West Coast Amusements. Organizers say the fireworks will be launched from just east of the Midway this year, a new placement intended to improve viewing for the crowd. Excite Lethbridge's Paul Kingsmith said the finale caps off a day meant to bring the community together.
Other Saturday attractions include the Family Fun Zone, a marketplace, midway rides, food trucks, beer gardens, motocross demonstrations and rodeo and community stage performances running throughout the afternoon and evening.
